Terms and Conditions

This page describes how a rental with Rochester Porta Pros generally works, from the first quote to the day the truck comes back for the equipment. It is a summary written for people trying to understand the process, not the agreement itself. The written rental agreement you sign is the document that controls, and where the two differ, the signed agreement wins.

What these terms cover

They cover use of this website and the general shape of a rental in Rochester and the surrounding Monroe County towns. That includes portable sanitation like a standard porta potty rental or a deluxe flushable porta potty, waste equipment such as a roll-off dumpster rental, and site equipment including temporary fence rental, a 40ft storage container and a light tower rental. How we handle the information you send us is covered separately on the privacy page.

How do quotes and orders work?

A quote is an offer to do specific work at a specific site over specific dates. It is not an order until it is confirmed. Prices move with duration, quantity and distance, which is why a weekend and a month land in different bands, and why delivery is quoted as its own line rather than folded into the unit rate. Read porta potty rental cost if you want to see how the bands separate before you ask. If the job changes after the quote, more units, a different address, a longer run, the quote changes with it.

Who is responsible for the site and the placement?

You are, for the ground. We need a firm, reasonably level spot and a clear path to reach it, and you are the one who knows whether the gate is wide enough or the lawn turns to mud after rain. Placement in the public right of way in Rochester may require a permit from the city, while placement entirely on private property does not, and getting that sorted before delivery day is the customer's call to make. Our porta potty permit requirements and porta potty placement guide pages explain what to check.

Once equipment is on your site, it stays where we set it unless we move it. Do not relocate a unit yourself. A tipped or dragged unit is the single most common avoidable problem on a job site.

What can and cannot go in the equipment?

Portable toilets take human waste and the toilet paper we stock. Trash, paint, solvents, construction debris and grease do not belong in them, and a contaminated tank slows the whole route. Dumpsters have their own exclusion list, and what cannot go in a dumpster covers it in detail, along with the weight ceilings that come with each container size. Storage containers are for dry goods, not for anything hazardous, live or perishable.

Servicing, damage and pickup

Service visits keep the equipment usable. ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets a workable baseline of one unit per ten workers over a 40 hour week with one service visit, and busier sites need more. Rochester winters are cold enough that units on long jobs generally need a winter tank treatment from roughly November through March, which is worth agreeing to in the order rather than discovering in January. See porta potty in winter for the seasonal detail.

Damage beyond ordinary wear is the customer's responsibility, and so is keeping the equipment accessible on pickup day. A container blocked in by parked vehicles is a return trip.

What this page does not do

It does not create a guarantee. It does not set a fee, a deadline or a remedy. It does not replace the safety rules that apply to your own site, including OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) on toilet counts and OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) on washing facilities, both of which sit with the employer running the job. If you need washing capacity to satisfy that second one, see handwashing station rental.

Questions about these terms

Ask before you sign, not after. Call the number this site displays or use the contact page during business hours, and we will walk through the agreement line by line. If you are still comparing options, the FAQ covers the recurring questions, and the request a quote form is where a real number starts.
